Bat Job Quote Check

How to use it

Flat exclusion quotes leak on the trips and the heights. Start with Your bar: your target hourly rate, a profit margin percent, a minimum trip fee, and a monthly take-home goal, all editable starting points. In The job, pick a preset: Full exclusion, Single entry, or Emergency bat. Each fills entry points, exclusion devices, seal minutes per entry, inspection minutes, work height, and return visits. The tallest-work-height select scales seal and device time: 2 story adds 25 percent, 3 story or steep pitch adds 50 percent. The leaks card prices return trips to pull devices, a guano cleanup toggle, round-trip drive minutes and miles, the warranty reserve in years, and an after-hours toggle with its emergency fee. The quote card shows labor, materials, vehicle across all trips, the warranty reserve, true cost, and profit at margin. The recommended quote rounds to the nearest $50 above the minimum trip fee. Verdicts are PRICED RIGHT, CLOSE BUT LEAKING, WORKING TOO CHEAP, or LOSING MONEY, with leak callouts for unpriced trips, tall ladders, entry creep, long warranties, and missing emergency fees. The gut card and month planner finish it. Free, no signup, runs on your phone.

Worked example

Example only, not typical pricing. A full exclusion at a $75 bar and 20 percent margin: 6 entries at 25 minutes plus 2 devices plus a 60-minute dusk watch is 4.17 site hours. Two 45-minute return visits plus their drive add 3.17 hours, for 7.33 own hours plus 0.83 drive hours. Labor is $612.50, materials are $122.00, the vehicle across 3 trips is $72.36, and a 2-year warranty reserve at 8 percent per year is $98.00. Cost before margin is $904.86, true cost is $1,085.83, and the recommended quote is $1,100. Effective rate is $150.00 per hour against the $75 bar, so the verdict is PRICED RIGHT. An $800 gut quote pays $109.09 per hour, leaves $300 on the table, and sits $285.83 below true cost.

FAQs

Why do return trips get their own line?

Exclusion devices have to be pulled on a second visit. Two free return trips with drive time can eat a whole day, so the tool counts the trips and doubles the miles.

How does the ladder multiplier work?

Seal and device time scale with height: 2 story adds 25 percent, 3 story or a steep pitch adds 50 percent. A two-story ranch is not priced like a ranch.

What does the warranty reserve cover?

Free callback visits over the warranty length, priced at 8 percent of labor per year. A 3-year warranty fires a leak note because the liability is real.

How should I price the emergency bat call?

Use the Emergency preset with the after-hours toggle and an emergency fee. The tool warns when the fee is zero on a night call.

Why does the planner count hours per day?

Because exclusion work is physically capped. If the plan needs over 10 hours per day to hit the goal, the price or the goal has to move.
