How to use it

Open the tool and tap the chips for every ingredient you actually have on hand. They are grouped into Proteins, Veggies, Carbs and grains, Dairy, and Pantry staples, and your picks save on the device, so your list is still there the next time you open it. Salt, pepper, cooking oil, sugar, and common spices are assumed on hand, so you never have to tap those.

As you tap, the recipe cards re-rank in real time by the share of required ingredients you already have, with a match percentage and a progress bar on each card. Recipes where you have everything say so in green, and recipes that are one ingredient short call out exactly what is missing. The shopping list at the top always reflects your current top-ranked recipe, which keeps grocery runs short and focused. Tap Show steps on any card for the full cooking method, and check the "Even better with" line for optional ingredients you already have that would upgrade the dish for free.

Worked example

Example only, not typical earnings/pricing/numbers. Tap White rice, Soy sauce, and Broccoli. Veggie Stir-Fry needs those three plus Bell pepper, so it lands at 75 percent and the card reads "Missing only: Bell pepper." It ranks as the top pick, so the shopping list shows exactly one item: Bell pepper. The card's "Even better with" line also suggests garlic, honey, carrots, mushrooms, tofu, or onion, but only ones you have not tapped yet, so you can see which free upgrades are available tonight.

FAQs

How are the recipes ranked?

By the percentage of required ingredients you already have. Ties are broken by fewer missing ingredients first, then alphabetically. Optional ingredients never hurt a recipe's score; they just show up as upgrades.

What does "Missing only" mean?

You are exactly one ingredient away from cooking it. Recipes with zero missing say "You have everything" instead, and the shopping list for your top pick shows only what is missing.

Will it remember my pantry between visits?

Yes. Your picks save in your browser on the device, so your ingredient list is still there when you come back. Use the Clear all button to start fresh.

Are these professional recipes?

No. They are simple home cooking ideas with plain steps, not professional culinary advice. Treat times and methods as starting points and use your judgment.

Can it scale a recipe up or down?

Not on its own. For that, use the Recipe Scaler tool: enter what the recipe makes, what you want, paste the ingredient list, and it does the math.
