Pest Price Check

How to use it

Set your bar first: the minimum dollars per hour you will work for ($75 default). Everything on the account is measured against this rate, Price your own time, not your hopes. Pick the account type: Monthly, Quarterly, or One-time, which sets visits per year to 12, 4, or 1. Enter the price per visit ($70), service minutes per visit (30), round-trip drive minutes (25), and chemical or product cost per visit ($4). The next card is the point of the tool: free warranty retreats, which the note warns are free to the customer but cost you the same drive time plus product. Enter retreats per year (2), minutes per callback for service plus drive (55), and product cost per callback ($3). Results show visits per year, annual revenue, product cost across visits and callbacks, free callback hours, total committed hours, and profit per account per year, plus the big true dollars per hour number. The verdict fires WORTH IT at your bar, TIGHT within 15 percent with the per-visit price needed, or THE MONTHLY TRAP with the exact per-visit price that hits your rate. The income goal card converts a monthly goal into accounts needed at this price.

Worked example

Example only, not typical pricing. Monthly preset at a $75 bar: $70 per visit, 30 service plus 25 drive minutes, $4 chemical, 2 callbacks per year at 55 minutes and $3 product. Revenue is $840, product cost is $48 + $6 = $54, free callback hours are 110 / 60 = 1.83, and total committed hours are 11 + 1.83 = 12.83. Profit is $786, so the true rate is $61.25 per hour: THE MONTHLY TRAP. The per-visit price that hits the $75 bar is (75 x 12.83 + 54) / 12 = $84.70, rounded to $85. A $5,000 monthly goal needs $65.50 per month per account, so 5,000 / 65.50 = 76.3, rounded up to 77 accounts.

FAQs

**Q** Why do callbacks count twice, in both hours and product cost?

Because a free retreat really costs you both. You drive there, you spray product, and the customer pays nothing. This tool adds callback hours to committed hours and callback product to chemical cost, so the verdict reflects the account as it is, not as the bid sheet pretends.

**Q** Should I use the Monthly, Quarterly, or One-time toggle?

Match the real schedule. Monthly is 12 visits per year, Quarterly is 4, and One-time is 1. Recurring accounts are where callbacks silently stack, so the tool defaults to Monthly.

**Q** What counts as committed hours?

Every hour the account costs you: service minutes plus drive minutes times visits per year, plus callback minutes times callbacks per year. The true rate is profit divided by this total, not by service time alone.

**Q** What does TIGHT mean?

Your rate is within 15 percent of your bar. The fix is small: the sub-line shows the per-visit price that closes the gap, usually a modest bump or one fewer callback per year.

**Q** Is this telling me what to charge?

No. It is a reality check against your own bar with your own numbers. Pricing varies by market, and the tool only shows what rate your current price actually pays.
