Notary signing agents: the fee is not the profit. Free, no signup.
Both sets. Paper + toner estimate, edit to your real cost.
Default is the 2026 IRS business rate, Jul-Dec. Edit if you track actual costs.
For notary signing agents, the fee is not the profit, and this calculator finds the real number. Enter the fee offered, then pick the signing type: Refinance, Purchase, HELOC, Seller docs, or RON. Each preset fills in realistic starting values for pages, drive time, appointment time, prep time, drop-off time, scan-backs, and miles, which you can adjust to match the actual order.
Enter your pages to print and per-page print cost, your round-trip miles and cost per mile, preloaded with the 2026 IRS Jul-Dec business rate and fully editable, plus any parking, tolls, or shipping costs, and the minimum hourly rate you are willing to work for. Scan-backs add 30 minutes when required.
The breakdown shows printing cost, driving cost, total cost, net profit, total minutes, and your true dollars per hour. The verdict is blunt: TAKE IT, BORDERLINE, or DECLINE. It also shows the counter fee you should ask for, the number that covers your costs plus your rate for every minute of the job.
Example only, not typical earnings/pricing/numbers. A refinance offer of $75 with the preset starting values: 200 pages x $0.10 = $20 in printing, 30 miles x $0.76 = $22.80 in driving, for $42.80 total cost. Total time is 40 + 60 + 45 + 30 minutes plus 30 for scan-backs = 205 minutes, or about 3.42 hours. Net profit is $75 - $42.80 = $32.20, which is $9.42 per hour. Against a $50 per hour bar, the verdict is DECLINE, and the counter fee works out to $42.80 + (50 x 3.42) = $213.63.
Because the job is not just the appointment. Prep, printing, scan-backs, driving, and drop-off all count, and this tool adds every minute before dividing. A $75 fee spread over 205 minutes is a very different rate than $75 for one hour.
Your true rate landed within 15 percent below your bar. The tool suggests countering, or taking it only if you are slow and the order fills dead time.
Total costs plus your bar rate multiplied by total hours. It is the fee that would make the signing worth your minimum rate, given your actual costs and time.
No. They fill in realistic starting points for pages, minutes, miles, and scan-backs, but every field stays editable. Adjust them to the actual order before trusting the verdict.
No. Results are before taxes, and this is general information, not tax advice. Track mileage and expenses separately for your records.
