Sweep Route Check

How to use it

Lot sweeping quotes die on one flat per-sweep number. The quote that breaks prices the sweep and forgets the dump trips, the sweeper wear, and the setup minutes, while debris level quietly multiplies the time. Start with your bar (65), profit margin percent (20), minimum monthly fee (200), and monthly take-home goal (4,000). Pick a lot preset: Fast food pad, Strip mall, Office lot, or Gas station, each filling lot size and sweep minutes. The frequency select sets visits per month; the debris select multiplies sweep time from light to heavy. The leaks card prices dump fees, dump trips, drive minutes and miles, a sweeper wear reserve per visit, and a setup/breakdown toggle. Results show per-visit time, vehicle, and wear, visits per month, dump fees and dump-trip time, true monthly cost, your hours per month, the recommended monthly quote rounded up to 10 dollars, dollars per sweep, and your effective rate against your bar. Verdicts are PRICED RIGHT, CLOSE, BUT LEAKING, WORKING TOO CHEAP, or LOSING MONEY. The gut check grades your instinct fee; the route planner turns your goal into lots with an over-50-hour flag and an over-30-lots fleet flag. No signup; runs on your phone.

Worked example

Example only, not typical pricing. Fast food defaults at a $65 bar with 20 percent margin: sweep time is 45 minutes times 1.15 normal debris equals 51.75, plus 20 drive equals 71.75 minutes per visit, or 1.20 hours at $65, which is $77.73 of time. Vehicle is 14 miles at $0.67 equals $9.38; wear reserve is $15, for $102.11 per visit. Times 4.33 weekly visits equals $442.13. Dump trips are 4 times $25 equals $100, plus 2 hours of dump-trip time at $65 equals $130. True monthly cost is $442.13 plus $230 equals $672.13. Recommended monthly quote is ceil(672.13 times 1.20 divided by 10) times 10 equals $810, or $187.07 per sweep. Effective rate is (810 minus 672.13) divided by 7.18 hours equals $19.21 per hour, which is 30 percent of your bar, so the verdict is LOSING MONEY. The leak notes fire: dump fees and trips are over a quarter of the monthly cost, and setup minutes are off. A $400 gut fee would pay negative $37.91 per hour, sit $272.13 below true cost, and leave $410 on the table. The route planner turns $137.87 of profit per lot into 30 lots and 49.7 hours per week for a $4,000 month.

FAQs

Why does the tool count dump trips separately?

Disposal is a cost line and a time line: the fee per dump plus the drive minutes. Sweepers that forget it price the route and donate the dump.

What is the sweeper wear reserve?

Brushes, belts, and filters wear out whether or not you count them. The per-visit reserve prices the machine into every quote; under $10 the tool flags it.

Why does setup have its own toggle?

Unloading, blowing curbs, and loading up take 25 minutes a visit. With the toggle off, the tool warns you are donating it.

What fires the over-50-hour flag?

Sweeps usually run overnight. When the route plan crosses 50 hours a week, the tool says bid fewer, tighter routes instead of more lots.

What does WORKING TOO CHEAP mean here?

Your effective rate sits between 50 and 80 percent of your bar. The quote may cover true cost, but your night hours are not paid.
