Tick Season Quote Check

How to use it

Flat per-visit quotes and flat season packages die when the callbacks, the chemical, the organic multiplier, and the drive stay invisible. Start with Your numbers: your target rate, margin percent, minimum per-visit fee, and season take-home goal. In The yard, pick a preset: Small yard, Half acre, or Full acre. Each fills acres treated, on-site minutes, and chemical cost per visit, all editable. Tick the organic box for 25(b) products: the tool multiplies chemical cost by 1.6 and fires the organic warning. In The program, set visits per season and your quoted per-visit price, or tick the flat season package and enter the package price so the tool prices it per visit. In The leaks, set round-trip drive and miles, vehicle cost per mile, callback rate percent, and callback minutes. The breakdown shows on-site labor, drive labor, vehicle, chemical per visit, callback reserve, and true cost. The big number is the needed per-visit price: true cost plus margin, rounded to five dollars, never below your minimum. Verdicts are PRICED RIGHT, CLOSE BUT LEAKING, THIN PACKAGE, or LOSING SEASON. The gut check prices your old number, and season math counts yards to your goal. Free, no signup, runs on your phone.

Worked example

Example only, not typical pricing. A half-acre preset at the defaults: $55 target rate, 20 percent margin, $45 minimum, 0.5 acres, 30 on-site minutes, 3 visits per season, $22 chemical per visit, 30 drive minutes, 24 miles at $0.67 per mile, and a 10 percent callback rate with 20 callback minutes. On-site labor is $27.50, drive labor is $27.50, the vehicle is $16.08, the chemical is $22.00, and the callback reserve is $3.44, giving a true cost of $96.52. The needed per-visit price is $120, paying $78.48 per hour after vehicle, chemical, and callbacks, but the $65 quoted price lands $31.52 below true cost, so the verdict is LOSING SEASON. A $65 gut quote pays $23.48 per hour and leaves $55 on the table. The organic toggle with a $230 flat package is worse: chemical climbs to $35.20, true cost hits $109.72, the package prices out at $76.67 per visit, and every visit loses $33.05.

FAQs

Why does the tool price callbacks into every visit?

A 10 percent callback rate here adds $3.44 to every visit, covering the minutes and the extra drive before the retreat happens for free.

Why does organic need more visits?

Organic programs run monthly, so the tool warns against quoting them at conventional prices and multiplies chemical cost by 1.6.

Why did my flat package lose money?

A $230 package over 3 visits is $76.67 per visit against a $109.72 true cost. The package row prices it so the discount shows before the season does.

When does drive become the problem?

When drive minutes beat spray minutes. The leak note fires on exactly that, with the fix named: cluster yards by neighborhood or add a travel tier.

Is this business or financial advice?

No. Planning-only arithmetic on your own numbers. Pest rules vary by state; the tool only prices your inputs.
