Trap Trip Quote Check

How to use it

Flat wildlife quotes die when the daily trap checks, the per-animal disposal, the entry sealing, and the warranty callbacks stay invisible. Start with Your numbers: your bar, margin percent, minimum trip fee, and weekly take-home goal. In The job card, pick a preset: Attic squirrels, Raccoon den, or One-off animal. Each fills traps, trap days, inspect and check minutes, entries, seal minutes and materials, and animal count, all editable. In The leaks card, set drive minutes and miles times days plus one trips, per-animal haul-away fee against disposal cost, callback reserve percent, and check the legal box if your state requires daily trap checks. The breakdown shows site labor, drive labor with trip count, vehicle, disposal, materials, haul-away revenue offset, callback reserve, and true cost. The big number is the recommended quote: true cost plus margin, rounded to twenty-five dollars, never below your minimum. Verdicts are PRICED RIGHT, WORKING TOO CHEAP, or LOSING JOB. The gut check prices your old quote; the week planner counts jobs to your goal. Free, no signup, runs on your phone.

Worked example

Example only, not typical pricing. An attic squirrel preset at the defaults: $75 bar, 20 percent margin, 4 traps, 7 trap days, 45 inspect minutes, 20 check minutes, 3 entries, 30 seal minutes and $25 materials per entry, 40-minute drive, 30 miles at $0.67 per mile, 4 animals at $15 disposal, 8 percent callback reserve. Site and trap-check labor is $343.75 for 275 minutes, drive labor is $400.00 across 8 trips, the vehicle is $160.80 for 240 miles, disposal is $60.00, materials are $75.00, and the callback reserve is $83.16, giving a true cost of $1,122.71. The recommended quote is $1,425. A $350 gut quote earns negative $2.92 per hour, lands $772.71 below true cost, and leaves $1,075 on the table. Leak notes fire on drive beating site time, $15 disposal against a $0 haul-away fee, and sealing running over an hour. The week planner says fix the quote first: this job loses money, so more jobs loses more.

FAQs

Why do trap-check trips need trip counting?

Daily checks are separate drives. Seven trap days plus the install trip is 8 trips at 40 minutes each, 320 minutes of windshield time that a flat quote never sees.

What does the legal daily-check box do?

It marks that your state requires daily trap checks. Skipping it undercounts the trips that the whole quote is built on.

Why is disposal against haul-away fee a leak?

Disposal costs $15 per animal while the haul-away fee charged is $0. Four animals is $60 out of your pocket on every job until you add the line.

Why does entry sealing get flagged?

Three entries at 30 seal minutes is over an hour of ladder work plus materials. Entry-point creep is the second biggest margin killer after the check trips.

Is this business or legal advice?

No. Planning-only arithmetic on your own numbers. Wildlife regulations vary by state; the tool only prices your inputs.
